The past, present and future of forgiveness
Christ paid the penalty for all our sins -- the big ones and the small ones, the past, present and future ones. Let's say you live to be 80 years old and at the age of 40 make the decision to accept the gift of Christ's payment for your sins. Now, imagine that you committed a million sins up to that point in your life. Let's then suppose that you can somehow see into the future and that in the next 40 years, you will commit an additional 100,000 sins. As of now, how many of your sins are paid for? Only the one million you committed before accepting the gift, or your life total of 1,100,000?
