Why should I believe it's inspired?
Even if we grant that the Bible is historically accurate, that doesn't prove necessarily that God wrote it. Accuracy and reliability don't prove divine authorship or inspiration.

The Bible claims to be the inspired word of God, which is not dictation from God. Rather, God superintended the human authors, using their individual personalities and vocabulary, to write what he intended, without error in the original manuscripts. If there is a God and if he created us humans and wanted to communicate with us, then he certainly could get the job done, without mistakes.
