Does God help us with our pain here and now?
If we really could somehow believe or know that we were going to Heaven when we die, we would have more courage and hope instead of despair.

God has not only promised that we can go to Heaven when we die if we have that right relationship with him, but he's promised to help us deal with our pain here and now. He doesn't promise to take away all our problems in this life, but He has promised to give us peace and joy in the midst of, and sometimes in spite of our pain. Furthermore, he actually promises that he'll make good come out of the pain.
