How good is "good enough"?
Jesus defined goodness much differently than we do. In the Sermon on the Mount, He said, "You are to be perfect, as your Heavenly father is perfect." Before that, He told the people that unless their goodness was better than the goodness of the religious leaders, they wouldn't make it into the kingdom of Heaven. He then went on to explain why the religious leaders -- do-gooders that they were -- didn't qualify either.
