Why give up control of my life?
If we really believe that God loves us and made the ultimate sacrifice for us, doesn't it follow that He must want the best for us? If God loves us and He wants the best for us on the one hand and if He knows what's best for us on the other hand, we'd be fools not to trust Him with our lives.
