Whereas the first decision results in receiving eternal life and getting to Heaven, this second decision is the key to experiencing the abundant life between here and Heaven. Most people who experience conflict tend to either get angry and say something they later regret or withdraw and say nothing at all. But the Bible says that we're not only to refrain from insult, but to return a blessing instead. When we allow God to be in control of our lives, we end up forgiving instead of harboring resentment. This results in peace rather than anger and frustration. |
