Many people think it is selfish to ask something for themselves, as if they're taking up God's time. Consider parenthood. Most parents want their children to come to them with anything and everything. Even though they don't always give them everything they ask for, moms and dads do want to talk it over with their children and to be included in their lives. This is close to how the Bible describes God's feelings for His children -- us! It even says that there are blessings we don't have simply because we don't ask for them. He wants to hear from us more -- not less. |
