What does atheism
say about evil?
Let's take a look at how worldviews help us deal with the intellectual side of the "evil and suffering" question as well as the personal side, that is, our experience of suffering. Three major worldviews that have a lot to say about this are atheism, pantheism and theism. Atheism takes the position that pain exists but God doesn't exist -- God is an illusion. Pantheism, on the other hand, says God exists but pain does not -- pain is an illusion. Theism, which is the Bible's explanation, says that both God and pain exist and that neither is an illusion.
