An atheist experiencing great pain may feel it's unjust and that certain wrongs should be righted, but his worldview tells him there's nothing wrong. He is just an accident in a random universe with no standards of right and wrong. He has no right to ask for anything different. The bottom line for a consistent atheist should be "life stinks and then you die." There's no hope and no purpose to life. There never was and never will be. He has no intellectual answer for how our universe got here or for where his sense of justice came from, and there is no hope or help in living with pain.
