How do "justice" and "punishment" fit with "love"?
Imagine yourself as a Jew after the Holocaust with physical and emotional scars, alone after your family has been tortured and killed. If God doesn't plan to deal out justice to Hitler and his cohorts, would you feel like He loves you?
If you take away justice, you end up taking away love. It's God's love that motivates Him to bring justice to those who use the free will He lovingly gave them to harm other creatures He loves.
