But there's another equally great error to be avoided on the opposite swing of the pendulum: the idea that God is only a God of love, that love is the only divine characteristic of any importance, that holiness, purity, justice and truth really don't matter. God, for many people, including ministers, is like a senile grandfather in the sky who hears and sees no evil. C.S. Lewis said that some believe that God's only concern is that at the end of the day a good time was had by all.

What's the matter with that? First of all, it leaves evil unpunished. Second, if God is not just and holy, as well as loving, then He's not even loving.
