That's obviously a problem. So, if evil and pain are just an illusion, then God isn't evil. That's the way out of the trap. The intellectual problems with this are staggering. First, pantheism assumes an eternal universe even though the data brought to us by science harshly contradicts that idea. Second, pantheism's view of pain as an illusion requires the denial of our senses, which scream, even to the pantheist, that pain is real. |
