Mathematical probabilities
In Science Speaks, Peter Stoner presents calculations about the probability of just 10 of the Messianic prophesies being fulfilled by chance and offers a fascinating illustration to demonstrate it. Imagine that you cover the state of Texas with silver dollars, two feet thick. Mark one of them with a blue X, shuffle them all, and then blindfold somebody. What do you think the probability is that the person would pick the one marked with the blue X on the first guess? That is the same probability of these biblical predictions being fulfilled by chance. It is much more reasonable to believe that God, who knows the future, told human authors what would happen, which is exactly what the biblical authors claimed when they wrote, "Thus said the Lord."
