Developing a Business Plan

The business plan must reflect the data and discovery that has taken place prior to one word of this document's initial structure. Without the careful planning and research being conducted, the business plan is more detrimental than just being inaccurate. It has the potential of communicating fiscal irresponsibility before the project can even begin to be designed. We must provide accurate and realistic financials if we are to build credibility and trust with our stakeholders. The Business Plan, when combined with our mission, should be the guidance for the project—not just a suggestion.

Five-Year Projection Example

Saint Joseph Mercy Hospital System, Ann Arbor, Michigan - Salon/Spa projections
Note: SJMH End Users 5 Year Projection Totals are based on SJMH End Users and Department Heads signing off as to what they felt most comfortable with. They are, for the most part, conservative.

Five-Year Projections are based on benchmarks from national retail within Healthcare as well as traditional retailers. Reductions in areas such as "Cost of Goods Sold," "Payroll" and "Facility Related Costs" will be accomplished by creating greater efficiency and buying structure over the course of the five year plan. The increases in cost for “Advertising / Marketing” will be used to drive the business.

Our Business Plan Goals
TMS will place the highest regard and effort on the development of the Business Plan. With a cost effective approach, our team will analyze every aspect of the project development. We will work with internal and external skill sets to provide a plan that has realistic adherence. TMS will use this plan to better assist in validating the project and its potential.
